Mr. Oliver has been involved in numerous aspects of the hospitality industry for over 35 years. After completing his B.S. degree at University Nevada, Las Vegas in Tourism, Hotel and Casino Management and interning with MGM Hotels, he joined Pannell, Kerr, Forrester- Los Angeles where he undertook feasibility and development plan studies for projects in the Western US, Hawaii, Tahiti and Mexico.
He subsequently held executive positions with a number of Hospitality companies around the globe. This included executive positions with Sonesta Hotels (New Orleans and Bahamas); Princess Hotels (Bahamas and Bermuda), and General Manager of Sheraton Hotels (Niagara Falls). He later became Manager, Canadian Pacific/Fairmont – Royal York Hotel (Toronto), before becoming President, New World’s Canadian holdings – Ramada/Renaissance Hotels.
After his role at Wardair Airlines in charge of global operations and development, he stayed in development roles with ITT Sheraton, Starwood, Carlson and Wyndham where he delivered over 200 franchise and management agreements. He subsequently worked with 360 Group leading Asset Management of a two-billion-dollar portfolio of 5000+ luxury rooms of Fairmont and Hilton Assets across North America.
Mr. Oliver operates through Strategic Hospitality Services Inc., a global consulting firm that assists owners and developers with hospitality and casino projects, including feasibility, operations, marketing, finance or on a transactional basis.
Mr. Oliver sits on the public boards of various hospitality and technology companies where he has chaired governance, audit and compensation committees.
